Opening

Bernie opened the meeting with prayer.

 

Review of Minutes

There was a correction to last month’s minutes.  It should read, “Meeting was closed in prayer by Mary Jo.”  Motion made by Kevin to approve minutes with correction. Seconded by Mary Jo. Motion carried.

 

Review of Operating Report

August is typically a quiet month for expenses, but will pick up again in September.  Net cash is $6,700.  A final estimate was made for the air conditioner condenser in the social hall of $2,500.  The money will be taken from the Capital Campaign money. It was decided to go ahead and have it fixed this fall.  Incidentals that get brought to Ken will come to the Parish Council if Ken feels this is necessary.  If it is urgent, the matter will be addressed via email by the Council.

 

Committee Selections

Committee liaisons will remain as is per last month’s decisions.

 

Committee Updates

 

·         Liturgy – Barb

The Liturgy Committee will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:45 p.m.  The committee reviewed the calendar for 2010-11.  It was decided that the Time, Talent and Treasure surveys will be given to the congregation in a few weeks.  These will go out to all new families as well.  Ken will email the survey to the Council so they may review and send corrections.  The survey will be distributed two Sundays:  October 10 and October 17.

 

·         Life and Growth – Mary Jo

Mary Jo contacted Teresa to let her know she is now the liaison. Nothing else to report.

  Peace and Justice – Mary Ann

Food at First will be the fourth Thursday of each month. The next one is scheduled for October 28th.  Mary Ann also noted that the Angel Food Ministry pick up is Nevada. Ames is no longer carrying the program so they will pick up here.

 

 

·         Building - Kevin

Kevin talked to Dave Burtnett and asked him to go forward with the Ackerman Memorial.

 

New Business

    The new Council vice Chair will be selected by December.

 

Old Business

    Bernie will check with Gary Makovec about the status of the railing.

 

Next Meeting

    The next Parish Council meeting will be October 19.
