Parish Council Minutes Feb 16, 2010
Present: Ken Michels, Marion Fitzgerald, Mary Jo McLaughlin, Dan Ramthun, Kevin Ericson, Mike Galecki, and Bernie Stephenson Absent: Mary Ann Gardner, Shelley Anderson, and Fr. Dagit
I Dan opened the meeting with a prayer at 7:09 II Review of the Minutes. Bernie moved to approve, Kevin seconded, motion carried III Father Dagit- No report IV Review of the operating report: Made large payment to the Diocese for the parking lot. Cash on hand is currently 38,694.37. V Committee Reports: 1) Finance-Looking into new software to be able to track finances better and to offer more options for reports. Planning to do another “State of the Parish” address in April. 2) Liturgy- No Report 3) Faith Formation- Committee was concerned that they would need to change how they operate to be in accordance with the new guidelines from the Diocese. The Council did not feel that they would need to change much other than the way that we review Barb’s position and the curriculum. Also some discussion occurred as to having too many days where not all the kids are attending events such as Sparks, GOF, etc… No action at this time, just something to look at in the future. 4) Life and Growth- No report 5) Peace and Justice- No report 6) Buildings and Grounds- Getting ready for the fish fry. VI New Business Vice Chair tabled until someone steps forward. Parish Council elections 2 seats are available, briefly went over time frame. Parish Census will be sent out to Council Members to see if anything needs to be changed to make sure we get all the information that we want. Having Parish Council meetings after Mass on Sundays. Decided to keep the meetings on Tuesdays. Meeting times will be posted in the bulletin.
VII Old Business Upcoming events: Fish Fry on Feb. 19 and March 26. Ash Wednesday soup supper on Feb 17. VIII Next Meeting: March 16, 2010 Adjournment and Closing prayer by Marion at 8:15 Minutes as I heard them, recorded by Bernie Stephenson-secretary
